Pimp Your Blog! That’s right, head on over and promote yourself today…

I said pimp your BLOG, not your dog!

Hey All!

Well, this week I got hit with a cold. Nasty little bugger that swiped my energy. I thought I had a swell post all lined up for you, but guess what? I didn’t! Thanks to Jenny Hansen, (she’s so awesome, isn’t she?) I thought I’d use my brain lapse to your benefit.

So… today I want you to pimp yourself. You heard me. Promote your blog, your book, your favorite pet ~ anything you want! Use the comments to tell us how fabulous you are, what you’re really looking forward to in 2012, or why you don’t understand belly buttons. It’s your day here at A Cup of Tea and Sorcery.

  1. What a nice invitation and great idea. I will stop back to check out other blogs!
I hope you are feeling better soon!

Come over to my Wild Ride where I just posted a 100 word flash fiction with a twist called “Crashed!” Or check out one of my humorous posts you may find under “silly stuff.”

  2. Tameri, get better soon! That’s an order!
I’d pimp stuff today, but I’m busy trying to figure out why, in my advancing age, my toe’s cuticles attract more dirt than a Kansas cornfield.
You can visit my blog if you want to share my frustration at writing about everyday technical stuff, like the cell phone. Or maybe it’s just me. http://gaylecarline.blogspot.com

  3. It’s always a welcome invitation to promote yourself. Thanks for giving us the opportunity, Tameri. I hope your cold packs it in quickly so you can get back to being your fun self..
Come visit my blog for Sexy Woman’s Wednesdays where it’s all about amazing women. Have some sexy fun, as well as, see presentations of awe-inspiring women. Thanks Tameri! Love ya, feel better!

  4. Tameri, What a great idea. I’ve got that cold kinda feeling myself. So far, Nancy J Nicholson’s Blog Flying with the Phoenix is still up and running, you can find her at http://www.NancyJNicholson.com. My goals for 2012 include spending the year in the Caribbean Islands. I’ll keep a running commentary of my travels, so by all means, come and see me.

  5. So, I have a feeling that you would kick my butt if I don’t comment here, Tameri :P. I’m sorry you’re still not feeling well. I highly recommend this recipe (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/12/chunky-chicken-soup/) for chicken soup. It’s lovely.

okay . . . pimp my blog . . . how exactly does one go about this? I like to think I have something to say (hence the blogging), but praising myself makes me feel awkward :P.

I’m a writer, so I write about writing. Currently, I’m doing a series on ‘Living on a Writer’s Budget’, and participating in the #Nightgale blogfest where we write short stories on the theme of mortality and immortality :).

    So, come check me out!

    http://blackanddarknight.wordpress.com

    • I try to not kick any butts before lunch, so you got lucky. Oh, I love the Pioneer Woman! I have got to try that for dinner tonight, thanks so much!

I totally get you on the feeling awkward about promoting ourselves, but we need to get used to it, don’t we? Because, you know, we’re going to be published soon and we’ll be all about the promotion!

Your living on a writer’s budget series is fabulous, I hope loads of folks head over there to check it out. Great tips!

  6. I hope you feel better soon! We had a bug just after Christmas that wiped us out through the New Year, some exciting celebration we had carrying around a bottle of Lysol. 🙂

I wrote a summary of the movie “All Good Things” today – a movie based on the “alleged” true crime story of Robert Durst. Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst star in the movie and both deserve a ton of acclaim for their portrayal of such haunted characters. I hope you’ll check it out!

Thanks for being such a great PIMP, Tameri!

    • Thanks Doll! I am feeling much better today (at least my head is clearer, yay!). Those nasty bugs just need to stay far away, like maybe they need their own planet. Leave us in peace, I say!

Hey, thank YOU for stopping by to pimp your ultra fabulous blog!

  7. sorry you’re sick, but what a great idea. I’m celebrating a blogfest of awards, along with some of my friends from WANA1011. come visit us. My blog is louisebehiel.com. Meet the bloggers I awarded, learn some secrets about yours truly and then visit my friends in the party. Enjoy! and don’t forget to try the champagne

    • Wow, that was an amazing blogfest of awards! You WANA1011ers are amazing. Such a great group of bloggers that I’m so fortunate to have met. Thanks for stopping by and the champagne was great!

    • Thanks David. Yay! You pimped your blog. Your blog posts are great and the comments you leave on other people’s blogs always crack me up. Especially Jillian’s MANday series. So glad I got to meet you here in the blogosphere!

  8. Feel better soon! Erm, pimping my blog makes my stomach go into knots, but since you so enthusiastically encouraged it… Get a good laugh from my blog post this week where I share my sister’s 9th grade essay on responsibility: http://angelawallace.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/get-over-it-wisdom-from-a-teenager/

Also, my book Phoenix Feather is on sale for $.99 on Amazon! It’s a sweet romance with a slight supernatural flair. http://www.amazon.com/Phoenix-Feather-ebook/dp/B0051QFNWI/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_1

    • Thanks Angela! I know, right? It feels strange, but like I told Rebekah, we have to get used to it. So here’s a baby step for you and look, you did awesome.

I’ve got your books on my Kindle and I am so excited to start reading them!

  9. Fantastic idea, Tameri (and Jenny)! I hope you are feeling better. Much rest this weekend.

Now for a little pimp (that sounds a little naughty): folks can catch me rolling around my blog at http://writenowlife.wordpress.com/ I share touches of life inspired by music, all things pop culture and admit to my continued addiction to all things Twilight (yeah, yeah they sparkle). 🙂

    • Thanks Barbara, I took your advice a little too well. It’s Sunday and I’m just now up and about! At least I’m feeling better.

I love this pimping idea! Thanks for sharing your blog with us, it’s awesome and always makes me smile. Twilight, huh? Are you team Edward or Jacob? ; )

      • Team Edward for sure! Vampires have been a first love in the horror genre since childhood, though back in the day, most weren’t all sexy, gentle and caring. Every so often, my mind questions the plausibility of Bella cuddling up to the ice cold Edward and being comfortable (as cuddling with warm Jacob would be). But then I just say, eh, and go with the love story. 🙂

  10. I hope you’re back up and about soon!

Just so you can prepare, I’m getting my confessional post prepared. It might make you crack a smile even with a cold. = )

  11. I’m suffering double ear infections. I hope we both feel better and can enjoy at least one good day this weekend.

In the meantime, what better way to pass the time than reading? I just made a list of my Top Ten Books of All Time. Though, if you asked me tomorrow, that list would certainly be different. I write about books, family, and writing, among other things.

    http://momfog.com/2012/01/03/my-top-ten-favorite-books-of-all-time/
    http://momfog.com/

    • OH, Yikes! I hope you get rid of those infections super fast. They are not fun at all. Top Ten Books of All Time? I cannot wait to see what you picked! I don’t think I could pick my top ten, let alone top 100. Wow. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are feeling better today!

    • Hey Kristy, thanks so much! I’m feeling much better today, thank goodness.

Thanks for pimping your blog. Self-promoting is hard, isn’t it? Well, that’s why we’re all here to help each other. So glad you stopped by!

  12. Dang, I’m hung up with a cold too.

Can I promote my web hosting site? It’s run on WordPress!

    http://cdg-webhosting.com

January special for my Neo plan: use coupon code SUPERJAN5 and save $5 off the first year of hosting, making the Neo plan only $9.95 a YEAR. (this is a limited coupon, only the first 100 people can take advantage of it)

That’s right… not per month, per YEAR. My hosting plans are small, perfect for a WordPress blog. And upgradeable, so if you need more space you can get more, but you don’t start off paying for stuff you don’t need.

    • What’s up with all the colds going around? Let’s get healthy everyone!

I’m so glad you came by to pimp your web hosting site, Valerie. You are welcome to do that anytime. I don’t even know what web hosting is, but it sounds fabulous! (I’m the technodork in the family, remember?).

If you ever want me to do a shout out on FB too, just let me know. ; )

  13. I’m sitting here in the waiting room waiting to get some fine “free” canadian health care. I sit and wait @ 12:15 for my 11:45 appt. So I thought I’d check on some blog activity – and well here I am! I was shocked to see my wife has not taken the opportunity to a) say feel better soon and b) pimp her blog – so here it is!
    A) hope you feel better, like NOW!
    B) check out my Hubby’s Corner on the first monday of the month – oh yeah…. Its at nataliehartord.com just til I take over here entire following and blog jack you all! *blog domination* bahahah-wahahaha!

Looking forward to the New Boo Boo Bling *evil chuckle*

    • You need a gravatar, sweet Hubby.

I hope you’re okay! Just a check up, I hope. By the way, even here in the states, where we PAY for healthcare, we have to wait. It sucks. I never want to pay my hospital bills on time. I figure, they made me wait a half hour, they can wait for my money. But, being the rule follower that I am, I pay them in a timely manner.

Thank you so much for your well-wishes. I think I’m going to live! Last week? Not so much. But this week I can breathe and everything. It’s awesome. ; )

OMG, you are such a blog whore! You’re going to jack all of our blogs, aren’t you? Well, go ahead sweet pimp. Take over all you want because we love you and your dear Natalie. Her blog is hilarious and if people aren’t going there, they need you to shoot them in the butt. Kind of like you did those pheasants. haha!

I mailed out your bling yesterday. You should get it soooooon. There’s even some for YOU!

  14. A thoroughly fantastic idea this is! And what writer, ego-centric that most of us be, can resist the opportunity? Certainly not moi! I will be sending along a little something to you. Not because you turned me into both pimp and prostitute on the World Wide Web, although I certainly do appreciate it, but because you are a fantastically wondrous writer and I love reading your stuff! Love and Blessings.

    • Hey Jodie! I’m so glad you like the idea, it’s been a great success and I love love love helping out others, so win-win! Definitely stop in and pimp your blog any time you like. You’re making me a little misty-eyed with your fabulous compliment! Thank you for your kind words. Love and Blessings to you, too!

I'd love to hear from you!
