TAG! I’m it and now so are YOU!

Today we’re starting off my Birthday Week with a very special post highlighting some fun facts about ~ Me! The beautiful and sweet Angela Wallace tagged me in this fun, Get-To-Know-You-Meme and since I’m a sucker for all things wacky, I just had to play.

So, what are the Rules?

1. You must post the rules. (check)
2.  Answer the questions and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged. (kind of check, I’m using the same questions)
3. Tag eleven people and link to them. (again, kind of check. I’m opening this to everyone. It’s my birthday week, I can break the rules!)

Questions:

If you could live in a fictional world, where would that be?

Aelinae. It’s the world I’ve created in my book and every time I write a new element into it, I imagine myself there and it’s bliss.

Do you read in noisy or quiet places?

I prefer quiet places, but if the book grabs me, then I can tune out ambient noise. I can’t read at coffee shops, though. I always want to eavesdrop. It’s a terrible habit, I know, but I like to think of it as ‘character study’. 😉

What was the first book you ever read?

I honestly can’t remember. I do know that I read every Misty of Chincoteague book and all of the Nancy Drew books. One of my favorite books was, ‘Are you there God? It’s me, Margaret.

If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?

The book of love. Ha! Okay, seriously it would be The Riverside Shakespeare. It’s the most complete collection of Shakespeare’s works. I’ve learned a lot from this book and there is always more to discover.

Favorite author?

Besides Shakespeare? Proust, Edmund Spencer, John Donne, Lord Byron, Anne Rice, David Eddings, Brent Weeks, Sharon Kay Penman, Mercedes Lackey, is that enough?

Do reviews influence your choice of reads?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I’ve had friends recommend books to me and I just scratch my head wondering why they thought I’d like it and other times they tell me to stay away from a certain author and I end up loving them.

Fiction or Non fiction?

Fiction.

Have you ever met your favorite author?

I met Brent Weeks awhile back and he was super cool. I saw him on a panel at Comic-Con with Patrick Rothfuss and Christopher Paolini and I was instantly smitten with the three of them. They were hilarious and bounced off each other in the sweetest way.

Kindle or Paperbacks?

Paperback, but I’m heading into the digital unknown. I think I have twelve books on my kindle now…

Classic or Modern Novels?

Um, fantasy? I guess if you looked at my bookshelf you’d say Classic. I read a lot of medieval and Renaissance stuff.

Book Groups or Solitary Reading?

Solitary. Book groups would remind me too much of high school when we read stuff aloud and went around the room page by page. I was always ten pages ahead and got into trouble when it was my turn. Oops.
